フィンランドの雄、SENTENCEDの8ｔｈにしてラストアルバム。
前作では絶望感漂うメランコリックメタルを聴かせてくれましたが、今作では打って変わって躍動感すら感じさせるパワフルなサウンドになっており、エネルギーの向きが内側から外側に変わった印象です。
近作のゴシック路線に初期のアグレッションが加わった、
まさにラストにふさわしい作品に仕上がっています。
もちろんあのメランコリックなメロディは健在で、
"We Are But Falling Leaves" "Her Last 5 Minutes" "Consider Us Dead"
"Lower The Flags" といった前作を踏襲したノーザンメランコリック路線では
胸を締め付けるような哀しいメロディが聴けます。
一方 "May Today Become The Day" "Ever-Frost" "Vengeance Is Mine"
"A Long Way To Nowhere"といったアップテンポなHMチューンでは
メランコリックながらもメタルのカッコ良さが出ていて、これはこれで素晴らしい。
そしてラストの "End Of The Road"。
あまりにも哀しいこのメロディはまさに「Funeral Song」です・・・・・・・・
